For the 2005 competition, we are delighted to welcome sponsorship from Jennings, who are tapping in to our community links with one of their local beers. (After all, gardening can sometimes be thirsty work!)
‘Wandering over hills and vales may give you a thirst…’
Originally brewed to commemorate the bicentenary of William Wordsworth writing the "Daffodils" poem – ‘I wandered lonely as a cloud’, this year Golden Host will be the drink behind the Cumbria in Bloom campaign.
Committed to working with the local community, Jennings Brewery felt there was a strong synergy between Golden Host and Cumbria in Bloom. With over 175 years of brewing experience behind the Jennings ales, the traditional brewing process, using natural ingredients and pure Lakeland water from the brewery’s own well, lends itself to the strong emphasis which Cumbria in Bloom have adopted in raising awareness of our environment whilst working with the people at grass roots level.
We are also attracting sponsorship from various government bodies, including the North West Regional Development Agency and Rural Regeneration Cumbria. We also greatly value the support of our local authority sponsors, and of course, the RHS and B&Q at the national level.
