Cumbria County Council Sponsorship

Cumbria in Bloom is pleased to announce that Cumbria County Council are our main sponsor for this year and in recognition of this the Council have announced a garden design competition. More details are given on our Home page. We look forward to working closely with the Council through this year and in the future.

Winners announced for the 2007 Cumbria in Bloom Competition

Winners of the 2007 Cumbria in Bloom competition today received their Awards from representatives of the campaign in Cumbria. The venue this year for the awards ceremony hosted by Eden Council was the Penrith Leisure Centre on Monday afternoon 3rd of September 2007.

Towns, Villages and Hamlets throughout the county were judged in a series of national criteria, in categories determined by the population as listed on the electoral roll.

This years national theme suggested by the RHS was “ Bloomin Wild “ and the special discretionary award was won in Cumbria by Whitehaven’s Mirehouse Ponds.

In all over 50 communities have received medal awards, encompassing all regions of the county.
